Essentials for the First Time Parent

As a first time parent, you are probably feeling overwhelmed by all the supplies your baby needs. It can be difficult to know which brand, which size, which model, and which color to get in all of the countless baby must-haves.

In this post we will go over some of the baby essentials for new parents!

Baby Carrier

A baby carrier is a must for the first time parent. It helps you keep your hands free and gives you more time to do other things. You can use it when doing daily chores like cooking, cleaning or even shopping at the mall. It also comes in handy when traveling with your little one because they tend to sleep better when they are being held by someone who loves them very much (like YOU!).

Baby Monitor

A baby monitor is a must-have for any new parent. You'll want to be able to keep an eye on your little one while they sleep, so that you can respond quickly if they need you. The best monitors allow you to talk back through the device, so that you can comfort your child without having to leave their room or wake them up completely.

If possible, choose a monitor with two receivers: one for the parent unit and one for the nursery (or wherever else in the house). This will ensure that if one receiver dies or runs out of battery power, there will still be another working one available nearby. It also makes things easier when it comes time for nighttime feedings because then both parents can be in charge of monitoring at once instead of just one person being stuck with all responsibility!

Bassinet

Bassinets are small beds that can be placed near your bed. They are typically used for infants up to six months old, but some parents prefer them for even longer periods of time. Bassinets are perfect for keeping your baby close by during the night and easy access when it comes time for feedings or diaper changes.

The key is making sure that you place your bassinet in a safe spot: not too close to drafts, but also not too far away from where you'll be sleeping! You want to make sure that there's no way they could roll out while you're asleep (and vice versa). Additionally, many parents choose to keep their infant in one room while they sleep in another so as not to disturb their rest with crying babies nearby--this way both parties can get what they need out of each night without sacrificing quality time together during daylight hours.

Diaper Bag

A diaper bag is a must-have for any new parent. It should be large enough to hold diapers, wipes, pacifiers, bottles, extra clothes and other essentials. You'll also want a changing pad so you can change your baby's diaper anywhere--not just at home or in the car (though those are great places too).

You may want some compartments inside the bag that help organize things like diapers and wipes into separate sections so they don't fall out when you open up the top part of the bag (which is called an "open top"). Some parents prefer bags with lots of pockets; others don't mind having everything just thrown into one big space because it makes finding what they need easier.

Baby Bathtub

If you have never bathed a baby before, it can be a little intimidating. But don't worry! Baby bathtubs are available in many different shapes and sizes. Some are made of plastic, while others are made of rubber or foam.

If you choose to use a plastic baby tub, make sure that it's easy to clean and fits well in your sink without falling over too much when full of water (and possibly even the tiniest bit sloshed). You'll want something comfortable for both you and your child--after all, this will probably become one of their favorite places on earth!

Snappy Socks

Along with all the baby essentials we’ve covered, your child will of course, need everyday essentials like socks to keep their little toes safe and warm.

Snappy Socks are the all-in-one baby socks that snap together in the wash. They’re essential for the first time mom because they are slip-proof, protecting your little one from falls; pull-proof, preventing your child from pulling off their socks and losing them, and they also snap together in the wash to make laundry day a little bit easier.
